But y...

does anyone know what instruments make a good jazz band?

I’m thinking of starting a jazz band but i only have a electric bass and an alto saxophone. Is this a good start

It is a start if you have some tunes. Most bands would start w/ bass & drums. It’s jazz so anything goes from there. That being said my friend recorded a beautiful record of original jazz w/ just piano & alto sax. Sam Rivers is a sax player who recorded in trio mode w/ just sax, drums & bass. Bassist Rob Wasserman recorded an album of duets w/ bass & whatever (different each track). So it’s jazz, anything goes.
