How could certain styles of music isn’t more popular?
I saw a person ask , if you could play any instrument Flawlessly which would it be?
The answers surprised me. People were listing instruments for jazz and classical music. I expected to see guitar, bass, drums, piano, etc
If people Enjoy these types of instruments, why isn’t Jazz and such much more popular? Just curious to hear peoples thoughts
Well, lots of people play guitar well, so why be just another guitar god? (Id love to play guitar great, but thats besides the point). You dont see many people playing amazing things on other less popular instruments, so I guess they might say it because its more unique than say, guitar or piano etc. Just because a style of music isnt played on the radio much doesnt mean its not popular. Jazz, classical, etc is just not what most people want to hear on their way to work in the morning. It might also have a bit to do with musical complexity, and usually the people you find listening to less popular but more technical/complex genres like jazz, classical, metal etc. are musicians themselves. Most people think crazy shred solos are boring…. that is unless you are a guitarist, and you can actually appreciate the skill that it takes to play things like that. The same rules apply to other instruments.
