Great Summit: The Master Takes
$5.69 For starters, The Great Summit produced not only itself, both with this Master Takes set and the two-CD Complete Sessions, but also a later summit, Count Basie and Ellington's tandem showdown, First Time. On its own, though, The Great Summit needs no later chapters to justify its celebrated standing in jazz annals. This was and is terrifically important music: Ellington is in grand form between re... |

what is the traditional music of caucasians in southern alabama?
in alabama south of birmingham, what has been the traditional music among white folk? is it country? gospel? jazz? or banjo “old time” bluegrass?
what is the areas’ musical heritage amongst caucasians?
Well Jazz and Gospel have Black American roots so those are definitely out.
Also, America really doesn’t have music by state. More like music by region.
I wold say bluegrass is a purely southern sound, but even bluegrass is heavily based on Irish music and is slightly influenced by African music. Because of slavery, lots of southern American food, culture, and music has African/Black influence. I believe the banjo is based on an African instrument. If you want to hear the “music of Caucasians” I would look at Europe. There is too much cultural mixing in the history of America to really believe that there is such a thing as Black Music and White Music. That is the great thing about American music. Save Gangsta rap, everything is influenced by something else.
