I agree. Just but the real book. Its all you need to do with Jazz. There are several to buy including method, melodies. But for a small lifetime investement, its gotta be worth it..

Do as ever other great Jazz master has done in the past and learn from ear by listening to recording of the masters before them. This is one of the most importent methods of jazz for swing, ear training and improv.
